Jim Hankins, Executive Director

Jim Hankins was born in Charlottesville, Virginia and grew up on a small farm on Smith Mountain Lake in Bedford County. He has been a lifelong gardener and in 2001, while living in Loudoun County, he started growing cut flowers commercially to sell to local florists and at farmers markets. In 2007 he was hired as Gardens Manager at Park Hill Orchard, an organic orchard and produce farm in Easthampton, Mass. Before coming to the Fauquier Education Farm, Jim served as an Agriculture Management Agent for the Va. State University Small Farm Outreach Program.
